Seattle reign Overview
Two-time NWSL Supporter Shield winners, the Seattle Reign are coached by Laura Harvey. Harvey, known around the league as the chief wheeler and dealer, had to work overtime this season to fill the gaps left by 2016 BBC World Footballer of the Year Kim Little, and U.S. WNT legend Hope Solo.
2017 NWSL SEASON PREVIEW
This team has seen an incredible amount of fire power depart from last year as long-time captain Keelin Winters has retired, Kim Little has returned to Arsenal, and Hope Solo is off in the woods of North Carolina recovering from shoulder surgery, amongst other things. In their place are a duo from Melbourne City FC of the W-League; Rebekah Stott and Larissa Crummer. Stott and Crummer played alongside Lauren Barnes, Jess Fishlock, and Beverly Yanez this past offseason. Though Melbourne City had a rough patch, they won their second straight W-League championship. The question is, can the success of those five down under compute to the American league?
INDIVIDUAL LEAGUE LEADERS
The Seattle Reign have seen nine different players find the back of the net, but Megan Rapinoe and Nahomi Kawasumi are racking op the points.
kATIE JOHNSON IS ONE OF OUR SIX ROOKIES TO WATCH THIS NWSL SEASON
